Getting started
What is FMRX?
FMRX in plain words, plus what a Trail, a Zone and a Sookshma period mean.
FMRX is a journal that knows what season you're in. It uses Vedic astrology to lay your life out as terrain, and when you write about your day it reflects that back with the terrain as context. It never tells you what to do with it.
The app has its own words for that terrain. The ones below are the ones you'll meet first.
Trail
A Trail is one full-screen vertical scroll on the Map, the app's main screen. It covers a short period of days and runs upward: the days you've already walked sit below you, and the days ahead sit above.
Zone
Each Trail is divided into Zones, one per calendar day. A Zone holds what you did that day: your journal entry, your mood, and the Debrief the app writes from them. Today's Zone is the one you can write into.
Sookshma
Vedic astrology divides a life into nested time periods called dashas, four levels deep. Sookshma is the fourth and finest level: a period that lasts days, sometimes a few weeks. One Sookshma period is one Trail, which is why a Trail has a beginning and an end instead of scrolling forever. In the app the four levels are labelled Era, Chapter, Stretch and Trail, longest to shortest.
Debrief
The Debrief is a short reflection the app writes after you journal, setting what you wrote against what that day looked like in your chart. Read it as a mirror, not a verdict.
For the longer version, read Reading your Trail. To see how the app keeps track of the walking you do, read Steps and Discovery Markers.
